Release: Artwork/Patch Notes Update

Another pretty big update that finally includes the missing artwork for Izzarci (which took much longer than anticipated), Yuratox and a certain someone else. Besides featuring full body artwork for every important character (besides their nsfw artwork), this update also includes a bunch of bugfixes of varying level of annoyance. It also features the implementation of the patch notes feature, which gives you some context of new things added and an overview of bugfixes. But it should also be mentioned that the current endgame won’t continue for now. However, once we reach a certain milestone of followers and the foundation is mostly free of any other issues (bugs) we will continue the main story. Mainly because we want to do a poll in which you can decide if a time skip should happen before opening up the world some more or a somewhat guided and linear section should be playable instead first. Don’t worry though we will keep working on the game by implementing quests, building maps and characters while fixing issues and updating the game whenever necessary.

ButterflyChainsawProductions is heavily investing in the future of the game, for example we have already set up plot lines and commissioned artwork for characters that won’t be accessible for quite a while. Besides working on things like bugfixes as soon as we notice them, we are currently trying to customize the skills of each character, trying to properly balance the fighting and porting the game to android. Even though we have overall prioritized storytelling so far, the fighting gameplay is still important to us. At this stage, please use the difficulty slider or use the “Supremacy” skill that you can find at the top of the “Tower of Development” if the battles seem too difficult. Whenever you’re stuck somewhere there is also a key item called “Emergency Transport” that you receive after leaving the harbour for the first time that teleports you back to the entrance.

The next big update should hopefully make the turn-based combat more balanced and enjoyable. While on the topic of bugfixes we should also mention that we have noticed some smaller, hopefully not game breaking issues, ranging from repeating dialogues to perhaps quest not properly closing or events not disappearing when they should. Most of those issues have already been fixed and were caused due to lack of experience at the time. We learn something new each day and for example didn’t use (aka bought) all the plugins we are using now and apparently missed to update some early development sections or we simply changed a couple of things after the fact without playtesting the section again. I’m (V) very sorry if you encountered any of these, but please know that we know how to fix them and as previously mentioned will do so as soon as we notice them. As always, we want to encourage you to report bugs of any kind at this stage, even if it’s just typos or missing commas. Please either use the itch.io comment section or the google doc that is linked at the end of this post to either tell us what you like about the game, report bugs or what features we should try adding next. If you want to do something besides reporting bugs and stuff, you may also consider supporting us on Patreon, Ko-Fi or SubscribeStar. Otherwise, there’s also the option to donate through itch.io itself. https://forms.gle/pCRFDKdvb2isFAFn9
